For Felber Advisory AG, it is the first issue. For Nicolas Felber, the twenty-second.

For three and a half years he has run the editorial desk of doc.be, the magazine of the Aerztegesellschaft des Kantons Bern, the cantonal medical society of Bern. 21 issues have appeared in that time. Issue 4/2026 is the first to carry the name Felber Advisory AG.

What our work involves becomes clear the moment you open the magazine. This issue reports on the symposium on domestic violence at the Inselspital, Bern's university hospital, which examined the role of men — including as those affected. A few pages later, Prof. Dr. med. Steffen Eychmüller, voted "Teacher of the Year 2025" by Bern's medical students, discusses palliative care and why "care rather than cure" should be the guiding principle for the final stage of life. And VSAO Bern, the cantonal section of the Swiss association of resident and senior physicians, sets out why good postgraduate training needs time.

Three subjects, three registers: a conference report on a subject people avoid, an interview, an association's political position. Two of the texts written in house, one edited. Each article calls for a different language. That is where editorial work actually lies — not in producing text, but in finding the right register for every piece.

From now on, we do this work as a pair. With Céline Emch, our new editorial assistant, the team behind each issue is growing.

21 issues are behind us. The twenty-second is the first of many under a new name.
